I am a fully qualified veterinary nurse with four years experience working in a small animal practice. Due to a chronic illness, I have had to give up vet nursing, but I have a strong interest in veterinary medicine and animal behaviouralism and miss helping out pet owners with their problems and queries.

I have seen a lack of good quality online information for the Australian pet owner and decided to start this blog to fill this gap and to continue to be able to provide pet owners with solutions for their problems.

I live with my partner and my two dogs in Sydney, Australia.

My Dogs

Rory (Nangunyah Norwegian Wood) is a 5 1/2 year old pedigree beagle born to two Australian Champions. Due to her pigeon toed front paws and a little curl in her tail, she wasn’t deemed fit for the show ring and instead found a home with us. In typical beagle fashion, she is extremely mischievous, curious and has a wonderful sense of comic timing.

Favourite Foods: Everything that is edible, but in particular olives, cheese, kangaroo meat and hot chips

Favourite Toy: Her womble

Caleb is a 5 year old German Shepherd cross who was dumped in a pound along with his brother at 7 weeks of age. He was saved by a rescue organisation and adopted by us when he was 5 months old. Caleb is affectionately, and sometimes not so affectionately, known as our problem child. Because he was under-socialised as a puppy and then attacked on three separate occasions by off lead and out of control dogs, he does not play well with other dogs – a problem we are working on. However, he loves people and is amazingly gentle with small children.

Favourite Foods: CHEESE!

Favourite Toys: Tennis balls and anything Rory is playing with.
